2005-03-31 - Miserable Magpie

It doesn't rain that often where I live, so it is no wonder that the birds are left a bit shocked when we get a downpour. Magpies are usually known for their sleek appearance and aggressive behaviour, striking fear into the hearts of cyclists and postmen alike. As a result, I found this scene of the bedraggled and bemused Magpie particularly comical. It just seems so out of character. I also like the fact that this is a different take on the typical bird photograph.

Jason My least favourite animal of all time. But a really good photograph all the same. I love the cropping and the way you've captured the bird's eye.
Ela Great picture...I especially love the composition of it....feeing a bit sorry for the magpie though, I think she is having a really "bad hair day" :)
