2006-02-06 - D200 Does Macro

Possibly my most anticipated feature of the D200 was its ability to offer metering on old, manual lenses - something the trusty D70 doesn't do. This probably isn't a big deal for a lot of people but for me, it means my 27 year old 90mm Vivitar macro lens now works like any other modern lens, giving me full matrix, centre-weighted and spot metering abilities. With the D70, I had to guess my exposures and then adjust according to the histogram. The D200 is much more accurate and makes life easier when using flash or chasing frisky bugs...

Technical details: 90mm, F/4, 1/80s @ ISO 100.
