2008-03-01 - THREE

Three years ago today I started this photolog and set a goal to publish a new photo every day. I'm proud to announce I have achieved that goal over the past 1096 days. When I began, I didn't have a time frame in mind, apart from as long as I can. It has been quite a marathon but I have absolutely no regrets about undertaking this project (even if it was to the detriment of my sleeping patterns at times!). I have learned more than I ever could have imagined and met so many amazing people as a result...

Now, in 2008, and with a new job in a new city, I feel like it is time for a change. I still love my photography as much as ever and I will continue to take photos everyday but I have decided to take a break from the daily updates here. There will still be plenty of updates, just on a more sporadic schedule. I'm hoping the extra time will give me an opportunity to work more on my photography and also on some long overdue upgrades to this site. I may even get the occasional bit of sleep!

A heartfelt thanks to everyone who has followed me on this project and I hope you'll check back for future updates!

In the mean time, check out the archive or the collages from previous years.

Jakob Hey mate,

I'm now going to need to find another site to look at daily, its been a pleasure to view your work daily - you really have some talent.

I look forward to see what the future holds for hybridvision.net

Best of luck to whatever you're doing, whereever you are now.

Stephen Cameron Thanks Jakob, I really appreciate your comments and the time you've taken to visit regularly. This is by no means the end - just a change of routine and hopefully I'll be able to come up with even better photos as a result :-)
Chris well steve, it'll be sad to have this finish, but its a well deserved rest! congrats on the milestone and i continue to look foward to any updates you will do. keep up the good work mate! best wishes for your new job.

Ali A picture speaks a thousand words and also describes the lessons one can learn in three years. Self taught- as always, much respect. Great times are ahead!
Susan Yay to you Stephen! this is a *huge* achievement and you need to feel proud!
You my friend are such an inspiration!
Jason Stephen,

I have truly enjoyed watching your work evolve over the past three years. I will continue to check for updates as time creeps ever onward. A new job in a new city sounds like a prime opportunity for new photography as well. Good luck and God speed.

Fred Hi Stephen, I've always wondered how you resize all the photos like that. I mean, surely you don't painstakingly resize them one-by-one, do you? I ask some must have been shot at different resolutions, and of course some are in portrait orientation so obviously different aspect ratios. Yet here you have them all the same size. How did you do it?

I have also enjoyed looking at your site very much, and although I haven't visited it in a while, I used to check back almost every day when I first discovered it and I still enjoy looking at your work and admiring it.

Well done on managing one post per day for thee years, that's quite an achievement. I'm sure there were days you must have thought "oh dash, I have to post a photo on the blog" when it was getting late or something. I think you deserve a break, but I expect and look forward to more updates. Don't let the blog go stale ;)

Kind regards
Dianne Boisen Steven,
I always love checking your site & think that you have an amazing ability, I hope that taking photos always remains fun for you.
Good luck with the new job, it's always fun to start anew.
Jakob Over a month has passed and I still find myself checking here daily. Don't leave us waiting too long :P
