2005-04-10 - Trapped
Nature can be very cruel sometimes.
This shot was taken with a 300mm F4 Nikkor that I had the pleasure of using for a day. It was a lot of fun on the D70. I like this shot for its simplicity and the contrasting colours. The lens did a wonderful job of smoothing out the background and isolating the butterfly. I probably should have taken this shot from a more direct angle to maximise the shallow depth of field because the left side of the butterfly is slightly less in focus than the right.
In case anyone is wondering, this butterfly got a second chance at life - the spider's web was abandoned so I set it free :-)
