2005-04-22 - Always Searching
I've never really understood the fascination for metal detecting. Sure, you might find some interesting things but I very much doubt there would be a great return for the time you have to invest. There must be more to it - maybe it is the thrill of finding something or maybe it is just therapeutic. Each to their own...
I chose to post this photo mostly for its interest. Technically I think it is fine - sharp, depth of field, even lighting - but nothing amazing. I like the blur of the sand being stirred up and I think without this element, it would not have made it onto the photolog. The Nikon 300mm F/4 that I used to capture this shot is a very nice lens and I enjoyed my day of playing with it.
