2006-02-22 - Lucky
I'm away in New Zealand until the end of the month so I'm running a series of old photos that I took in 2003 as part of a university assignment. See the first entry in the series for more details.
This is Lucky, an ex battery hen that we rescued from the chopping block. You can tell that she was a battery hen because her beak has been clipped - a very cruel way to stop the hens from pecking each other or the eggs. She went from a life in a cage to being free range and as a thank you, provided us with many eggs.
