2006-03-02 - Aotearoa Below
To kick off my second year of daily photos, I thought I'd post a series from a recent trip to the land of Aotearoa (New Zealand). Despite it being my fourth visit to NZ, I was as excited as ever to be returning. In fact, I think I was even more eager than before because NZ is a photographer's heaven and I had my shiny new Nikon D200 to try out.
New Zealand is known as "The Land of the Long White Cloud" and it lived up to that name with cloud obscuring some of the most spectacular views during the flight in. Fortunately the cloud cleared as we neared our destination and I was able to get a few shots. I've never had much success with photos taken out of plane windows and while this shot is still lacking, it is an improvement on previous attempts. I guess I'll just have to keep going back until I get it right ;-)
