2013-01-04 - Under the Milky Way
In 2011 I had the opportunity to make a road trip to Cape York, Australia's most northerly point. It was a fantastic adventure, over 6000km of driving with at least a third of that on very rough dirt roads.
This photograph was taken at the Hann River Crossing in Lakefield National Park where we camped one night. It is a very remote location and the stars are intense because there is no light pollution in the atmosphere. It was a very peaceful spot and I enjoyed watching the night sky.
